Creek House Kitchen
Our customer wanted to have a view out at the kitchen sink so the kitchen sink needed to be moved out of the island and onto an exterior wall. This Kitchen was able to be expanded through moving the front door to another area see doorway projects. We were able to remove a wall and hallway and expand the kitchen to the exteror wall. We removed the existing cabinetry and walls, rerouted the vent for the cooktop to an adjacent wall and added a horizontal sliding window to the exterior wall. The ceilings had been dropped to 7' through out the kitchen and the HVAC and electrical systems had been routed through the dropped ceiling.
We rerouted the Electrical lines into the ceiling joists and the HVAC ducts through closets and attic areas allowing us to raise the ceiling to 8'. We reconfigured the kitchen using a new triangle work flow. The ceilings were reinsulated to minimize the noise levels between floors.
The kitchen was finished out with new recessed cans and undercabinet lighting providing task lighting. Knotty alder was chosen to provide the country feel and to keep the kithcen light we simply put a clear sealer on the cabinetry. The counters selected were Silestone with an overhang on the island to provide additional seating. An 18"x36" porcelin tile was selected for the backsplash to tie the Saltillo floor to the countertops. New stainless steel appliances, and a reverse osmosis water filtration system finished the the functional areas of the kitchen.
